Empowering Women in Tech: Reflections from the Women in Tech Networking Event
Last week, we had the privilege of attending the Women in Tech South Africa Meet-Up, an event that was as inspiring as it was insightful. Under the theme "Women Tech Titans - Champions of Change," the session aimed to empower, highlight the importance of mentorship, and facilitate networking opportunities for women in technology.
This resonated deeply with us, as at Retro Rabbit, we prioritise mentorship and the continuous development of our team, extending past enhancing technical skills, to fostering a sense of belonging and purpose within our organisation.
Dynamic discussions on AI, Tech for Good, Cybersecurity and Youth Leadership showcased the pivotal role that women are playing in shaping the future of technology. Women from diverse backgrounds came together to share their journeys, remarkable challenges and even more remarkable successes, all while pushing boundaries and breaking barriers. It was a celebration of the collective power we hold to drive innovation and effect change.
At Retro Rabbit, we echo this spirit by fostering an environment where creativity and collaboration thrive. We are committed to continuing this momentum, ensuring that we remain at the forefront of technological advancements, and empowering women to lead and innovate.
The Women in Tech networking event was a powerful reminder of the incredible talent and determination that women bring to the technology industry, despite various obstacles such as recruitment bias, underrepresentation in leadership, imposter syndrome and limited access to networks / mentorships.
As we conclude Women’s Month, we are inspired to continue championing diversity and inclusion at Retro Rabbit, ensuring that we remain a place where women thrive and lead. The future of tech is ours to shape, and together, we can keep challenging the status quo, overcoming obstacles, and leading the way in technological innovation.
